He said in a statement issued today, June 16, 2024, that the value of the goods released since the beginning of last April until now amounted to 17 billion dollars; In line with the government’s goal of increasing the volume of commodity supply in the markets, in a way that helps achieve a balance in prices in order to reduce the living burdens on citizens as much as possible.




The Minister of Finance added in the statement issued by the Ministry of Finance that there is permanent coordination between customs, the General Authority for Export and Import Control, the National Authority for Food Safety, Agricultural Quarantine and Quarantine, and other inspection bodies, to speed up procedures for the immediate release of goods and merchandise at various ports, taking into account that the priority is For basic commodities, food, medicines, feed and production requirements.


Al-Shahat Ghatouri, head of the Customs Authority, said that the newly developed electronic systems help us greatly in accelerating the pace of customs release of goods and merchandise and their entry into local markets and production units, explaining that we work around the clock at customs ports with various concerned authorities, especially with regard to “exported” goods to ensure speedy Completing the procedures for the immediate release of goods.
