Kpler, a company specializing in data and analysis for global trade, revealed that the Asia Energy liquefied natural gas tanker crossed the Red Sea a few days ago. It is the first liquefied natural gas tanker to cross the Red Sea since last January. This came days after the Houthis sank a huge cargo tanker in the Red Sea.

The Palau-flagged tanker is moving towards Gibraltar, according to Kpler data. The LNG carrier Asia Energy is managed by Dubai-based Noor International Shipping Company, which is owned by Lule One Services.

According to Ana Subasic, LNG analyst at Kpler, which specializes in data and analytics for global trade. Asia Energy became the first tanker to cross the Red Sea since January 12 after waiting near the Omani coast

LNG flights through the Red Sea were halted due to Houthi attacks and the use of missiles and drones.

The Suez Canal constitutes the shortest sea route between Europe and Asia, and the canal connects the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.
