Egypt is taking important steps to invest in its commercial ship fleet

 Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport, affiliated with the Ministry of Transport, said in a media report that the National Navigation Company succeeded, with its fleet, in securing the transportation of wheat coming to Egypt.


 company was keen to contract to build a number of new ships as part of implementing presidential directives to restore the strength of the Egyptian commercial fleet and to achieve the greater goal of transforming Egypt into a regional center for transport, logistics and transit trade.



The company modernized the transport fleet and added the ship Wadi of the Kings, which is a modern dry bulk ship (BULK) class, with a capacity of 82.3 dwt, with a length of 229 m, a width of 32.25 m, and a maximum draft of 14.5 m. The ship complies with all the requirements of local and international supervisory bodies and commercial operation. It is equipped with the latest modern technical technologies in terms of machines, generators, and advanced navigational devices.

The company also purchased the ship Wadi Al-Arish and included it in the naval fleet with a total tonnage of 82 thousand tons. It is equipped with the latest navigation technologies and is compatible with environmental requirements.

The ship is 229 meters long, 32 meters wide, and 14.5 meters draft. The ship supports the Egyptian commercial fleet in the operations of securing and transporting strategic goods imported to the Arab Republic of Egypt, especially wheat, on behalf of the General Authority for Supply Commodities.



The report indicated that this support with these ships led to an increase in the company’s net profit to 54.07 million dollars during the year 2022, compared to the profit in 2021, which amounted to 50.96 million dollars, and the profit in 2020, which amounted to 21.5 million dollars.
