Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture announced that the Central Administration of Agricultural Quarantine will examine consignments of wheat arriving at Egyptian ports.
Dr. Saad Moussa, the Egyptian agricultural quarantine official, said that a shipment of Ukrainian wheat arrived at the Safaga seaport. Once it arrived, precise and comprehensive inspections immediately began under the direct supervision of Egyptian agricultural quarantine experts.
The Egyptian official directed the necessity of conducting a comprehensive examination at the highest level of the shipment, especially since it was not subject to examination in the country of origin due to the circumstances of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
He stressed that this reflects Egypt's ability to balance the requirements of food security, the necessities of international trade, and a strict commitment to implementing agricultural quarantine legislation, with speedy release and completion of procedures.
