New ports join the European Green Shipping Corridor

European Green Shipping Corridor

Several European ports have become part of the green shipping corridor, which connects 11 European countries via sea, land and railway routes from Norway in northern Europe to Spain in the south.

The ports of Gothenburg, the North Sea Port and Antwerp-Brugge serve as transport hubs as well as important origin and destination areas for industrial activity.

The Port of Antwerp Brugge has recently joined the Green Shipping Corridor between Sweden and Belgium. The port’s accession to the European Green Corridor has been welcomed by the participating ports and companies.

By 2030, DFDS is expected to operate two ammonia-fueled RORO vessels on routes between Sweden and Belgium.

The operation of the two ammonia-fueled ships is part of DFDS’s ambition to operate six low-emission and near-zero emission ships by 2030
