Port of Antwerp-Bruges: Temporary disruption of maritime activity due to a container catching fire

 Port of Antwerp-Bruges reported on June 24 at 5.30 a.m. that maritime activity in Djurgankdok was temporarily disrupted. The port reported that a container had caught fire at Waaslandhaven, leading to the temporary suspension of terminal operations.




Emergency forces were deployed to the site to contain the fire. The port added that the problem was resolved around 7:20 a.m., approximately two hours after the incident was initially reported. The container has now been moved to a safe location.



The port indicated on its website that the container has been moved to a safe place and all participants are now making every effort to restart all activities as soon as possible.
