The Port of Oakland achieved an increase in container traffic handled last May by 5.3% compared to the same period last year, with 188,040 equivalent containers.
Total imports amounted to 80,039 TEU, 12.9% higher than in May 2023, when 70,887 TEU passed through port terminals.
Complete exports decreased by 2.4%, as they processed 61,931 TEUs in May, compared to 63,475 TEUs in May 2023.
“Overall positive trends point to the long-term resilience of Oakland's maritime business,” said Brian Brands, director of the Port of Oakland.
